Chasing Toucans

Has 3 sub species Ramphastos tucanus tucanus Red billed Toucan Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri Cuviers Toucan and Ramphastos tucanus inca. R.t inca from Bolivia is believed to be a hybrid population between the White throat and Yellow ridged (thought to be a sub species of the Channel billed although not offically recognised).
The inca subspecies uppertail coverts are more reddened and the red patch on the sides of the black beak retained and enhanced. -
2nd largest Toucan only the Toco Toucan is bigger.

Males have larger and longer beaks than the females.

White throats have a yelping call.
