Choco Toucan (Ramphastos brevis)

Smallest of the seven large Ramphastos toucans.

Often confused with the chestnut mandibled toucan but has a black stripe rather than brown. The two can be distinguished between their calls the Choco toucan croaks whilst the Chestnut mandibled toucan yelps.

Restricted to the Choco areas of forests in western Ecuador and western Colombia. Its estimated global range is over 110,000 km².
